First, what does CDL stands for? CDL means commercial driver’s license. In United States, an individual or a company must submit this prerequisite before operating a vehicle with a total weight of 26,001 pounds or 11,793 kilograms. Essentially, if you want to drive a tow truck, a tractor trailer, or a bus, you have to get a CDL.
An authorized commercial driver’s license has these details:
1.The words Commercial Driver’s License
2.The complete name of the driver along with his signature and current address
3.His or her date of birth and gender
4.His or her height
5.A recent colored ID picture of the driver
6.His or her Driver’s State license number including the name of the state, date issued, and expiration date of the license
7.Approved classes and endorsements taken by the driver
As mandated by the Department of Transportation, the legal age to obtain a CDL is twenty-one but there are states where eighteen to twenty are permitted to apply for a CDL.
